The Treasurer has finally released the detailed Rules dealing with the extension of the JobKeeper scheme until 28 March 2021. The rules and explanatory statement flesh out the high level comments that have previously been provided by Treasury on how the extended JobKeeper scheme will operate in practice. The ATO has also released detailed guidance on specific areas of the new rules, including how to calculate GST turnover and modified rules for determining the payment rate that applies for individuals.

The JobKeeper 2.0: The New Rules Webinar explores the practical implications for employers, employees and business participants as we move from the original JobKeeper scheme into the expanded system.

We walk through the eligibility tests, how the decline in turnover tests work, applying the new payment rates, compliance and the overlap between the original and the extended rules.

  • The new turnover test periods that can be used to qualify for JobKeeper
  • How to determine whether employees and business participants qualify for the higher or lower payment rate
  • The eligibility rules that haven't changed and still need to be managed carefully
