Tax in 2020-21: The abridged version

An essential session for all those fatigued by the pace of change, the workload, and just a little uncertain about whether anything important has been missed.

We explore the important Budget 2020-21 measures, the issues and complexities arising from the stimulus measures, and the issues as we head into 2021.

We also look at other major developments in the tax system, such as the recent Full Federal Court decision that impacts on how we might approach the active asset test for accessing the small business CGT concessions for clients.

The Art of Getting Money into Super

Since the introduction of a Total Super Balance, it’s been increasingly difficult to get money into super. Changes introduced in 2020 however, have opened the door to contribution strategy planning.

This case study driven session demonstrates how the current contribution rules can be used to boost superannuation balances and assist clients to thrive in retirement. We take a practical look at concessional and non-concessional contributions as well as the increasingly popular downsizer contribution.
