Diverger launches technical support and education platform for advisers

Sydney – Diverger has expanded its service offering with the launch of a new continuing professional development (CPD) and technical support platform for financial advisers, through its established education brand Knowledge Shop.

The new service for financial advice professionals leverages Knowledge Shop’s more than 20-years’ experience providing membership services to the accounting profession, currently used by around 1,600 firms and thousands of professionals across Australia every day.

The Knowledge Shop Adviser Membership provides financial advisers with a professional technical help desk service that is broader than what is typically available in the market covering compliance, ethics, tax and superannuation.

The platform also provides managed, accredited CPD content so practices and licensees can track and measure their CPD at an individual adviser and organisation wide level. The focus is on practical CPD developed to a set standard, that delivers transferrable and useable knowledge.

Previously available only to accountants, over the past few years more than 1,000 financial advisers have utilised Knowledge Shop to support them in their FASEA exam preparation and study. This development, together with the proliferation of small independent advice practices across the advice industry, has created significant demand for a one-stop-shop education and technical support service provider.

“We are thrilled to be expanding Knowledge Shop’s member services to financial advisers,” said Lisa Armstrong, Managing Director Knowledge Shop. “While professional standards are vital in building a trusted profession, they need to be well supported and currently there is a missing link to how this translates to the daily work advisers perform.”

She added : “No one adviser can know everything that their client’s need. The adviser membership and CPD offer provides that certainty and a way of test-checking thinking.”

Knowledge Shop’s CPD offer augments the technical support service, adding value by building the knowledge of professionals rather than just fulfilling regulatory requirements.

A team of technical specialists who have all worked in in either the accounting or financial advice profession to at least management level and are specialists in their respective fields, sit behind Knowledge Shop, lending their knowledge and expertise to any queries advisers and accountants may have.

“The industry has raised the standards on CPD, and as a profession, we should also raise our expectations of what this CPD delivers to us as professionals,” said Armstrong. “Accountants refer to Knowledge Shop as their ‘professional wingman’ and we are confident we can establish the same value for financial advisers.”
